It’s been a crazy year, hasn’t it? I’m thinking about the political season of 2020 and how divisive things got. In reality, I feel like it would’ve been even worse if people were going out more. But in a unique year, things played out the way they did. One takeaway I did get from political season 2020 is the importance of unifying…especially with the election behind us.

Last month, I spoke about the important of coming together. This month, especially as a result of the recent election, I must re-emphasize that. Instead of just talking on coming together though, I wanted to talk about overcoming division. It’s somewhat of the same idea, but it’s different in a way too. Coming together doesn’t necessarily address the severed ties that we have and the differences that separate us. By titling this “overcoming division”, I wanted to tackle the topic of why we’re divided in the first place and why it’s so important to overcome that. This one’s gonna be a goody.

Sometimes, I look around and become amazed and how divided people have become. For us, as a nation, to be in the same boat and want the same things…and be so hateful towards each other…it surprises me. Now, I realize it’s not everyone and the media tends to exaggerate how bad it is…but when you see it yourself, it’s krazy. And so I’m writing this Opinions Column tackling a topic I’ve talked on before…coming together…again.

Coming together. It can mean different things to different people. For some, it might be about joining forces or holding hands to get on the same page. For others, it might be about developing plans and building towards them until they come to fruition. To me though, it’s both….and I believe by doing the former, we can do the latter.

What’s up my peoples? Welcome to the December 2015 Opinions Column. For those that’re new to the site, this is the sole spot where I talk about anything and everything going on in my head. For those that’re returning, you already know how we does. While I’ve spent the last few entries talking about how busy life is, I won’t get into all that this month (maybe I will, who knows).
