I remember when I first heard that happiness is a choice. I was like hmmm, that’s an interesting take on it. I struggled with the idea, especially with the hardships I faced. As I thought about it though, it began to resonate. I mean, it’s definitely oversimplified, but it made sense. So, let’s talk about it. Let’s talk about choosing happiness.

With 2018 in full swing, I wanted to share a video I did about the importance of setting goals (especially for 2018). This isn’t a rap video either lol. In my opinion, if you’re not setting goals you may not have a clear direction and be relying on luck instead. Luck isn’t always a bad thing, but it also means you may not get exactly what you want either. By aiming for something, you have a place to reach. And even if you don’t reach that place, you still will have come mad far.

I also wanted to share my 5 goals for 2018. Let’s help each other accomplish these goals we set for ourselves!

No matter how eventful my life is, I often remind myself to stay grounded. Life is full of ups and downs and twists and turns. What I’ve learned is that no matter what I’m going through (no matter how bad), there’s something good right around the corner waiting to happen. I know it’s hard to consider that when you’re caught in the moment, but trust me…the best is yet to come.

What is up my peoples! Welcome one and all to the July 2014 Opinions Column aka my birthday month! Excuse me while I get hype!!!!!!! Haha, I always get excited in July since it’s my birthday month. It’s especially exciting this month since I’ve made great strides in the last year.
