2012 was quite the year, wasn’t it? From a crazy political season and Olympic fever to “YOLO” and “Gangnam Style” mania, we had a share of highlights. We saw binders full of women, KONY, and the release of the iPhone 5. We also witnessed several dramatic events including Hurricane Sandy, the loss of Whitney Houston, and several mass shootings in the U.S. too. What a year it’s been.

Instead of revisiting everything in the news, I wanna take some time out and look back at the year I had (and what a year it’s been). It was a year full of highs and lows, good times and bad times, and some surprises too. Both personally and professionally, I had my share of events. So here it is everyone, my 2012 Year-In-Review.

Sometimes, you have to really persevere to get where you wanna go. As you grow older, obstacles pop up more and more and try to get in your way. It’s amazing how your goals seems so simple, yet all these other factors in life turn it into something so complicated. From working with difficult people to meeting other commitments to simply being too tired, it’s so easy to succumb to life’s difficulties. But I assure you, if you keep on…if you persevere…if you look the obstacles in their face and continue on with your journey, amazing things will happen. I speak from experience.

What is up my peoples? Happy Labor Day! Welcome to the September 2012 Opinions Column. Indeed, this is the place to go to dig within the chambers on my brain to explore my thoughts. There’s been a lot of great music that’s come out this past year (and lots more not-so-great stuff). Several of my favorite artists made comebacks this year, while others continued to do their thing. And of course, I debuted my first official video this year too. It’s been a good year for music videos, hasn’t it? It was hard for me to put together this list, especially when there were SO MANY videos released.
