Ah yes, the art of juggling. It seem as the older we get, the more responsibilities we have and the longer our to-do list gets. No matter how much you do, there will always be more. And sometimes, doing one thing uncovers two more things. Lol that’s always fun, isn’t it? It’s this endless cycle of juggling things in life while trying to do what you want that makes it complicated to find time. It’s tough, it really is. And I’m over here juggling myself…
Whatup world? What’s poppin? Welcome to the November 2015 Opinions Column, the sole spot on planet earth where you can find out what’s going on deep within my brainal tissues (brainal is a word in my personalized dictionary lol). For those that’re new to the site, this is where I ramble on about whatever’s going on. For those returning, welcome back…you already know the deals. And with that said, let’s talk about the art of juggling.
I mentioned it last month, but it’s hard to be sane when you’ve got a full plate. Despite that, you’re an adult and you gotta handle ya biz son! So what do you do? Do you succumb to the pressure, melt, and wave the white flag? Of course not. You gotta handle yours. For me personally, there’s beena lot to juggle. Between music, drawing, gym’ing, managing somewhat of a social life, and doing this thing called planning a wedding, it’s a lot. So how do you do it? Well, I make a list everyday of things to do. Unfortunately, it seems impossible to check off everything on the list. But hey, you gotta try your best, right?
Take for example drawing. So on Oct. 1st, I started taking part in #drawlloween, this drawing thing on Instagram and Twitter where people have 31 days to draw 31 things, all Halloween-themed. Well, I started off really well but then I got sidetracked…and sidetracked…again and again. In fact, I’m still not done drawing all 31 things and it’s mid-November. I dunno man, I’m trying but it’s hard. It’s all good though, I’ll reach 31 and then I’ll share with everyone.
The name of the game is prioritizing. While it sucks I still haven’t finished all my drawings, when you have an important meeting that helps out your future you have to prioritize that first. Or when there’s an important wedding vendor meeting to attend, it’s hard for me to say no cuz I gotta write a verse, you know? You gotta prioritize. And when there’s not enough hours in the day, it adds to the challenge lol. But I’m sayin, you gotta keep working at it.
After the drawings settle down, I’m going to bump music up to the top spot and really focus on shooting a video and recording/producing new music. I feel like after a strong 2014 with the new video, freestyle videos, magazine feature, and TV feature, this year has been very quiet. Well, I need to end the year strong and focus on a stronger 2016 too. Plus I got albums to release!
