“Music is reflection of self”
– Eminem on “Sing for the Moment

Do you ever feel like life is so fast paced that it’s hard to catch your breath? Or that there’s so much going on, time passes by very quickly? If so, it might be a good idea to stop and take a time to reflect.

What up y’all? Ajaxxx back at it with another *ehem lol* semi-overdue November 2020 Opinions Column. For those that’re new to the site, welcome! This is the place where I talk about what’s going on on my mind. For those returning, welcome back! And with that, let’s talk about reflection.

So yeah, with so much going on, it seems like things are moving at ultra speed. When it’s moving like that, we may forget to take the time to appreciate it all. And I mean, it’s really easy to have that happen, especially with the advent of social media in our lives. It can pull us away from what’s important, which can become problematic. It’s not easy navigating it all.

In an effort to feel better, I feel it’s a good idea to take time and reflect, especially when there’s so much noise. Even if you can spare five minutes a day, taking time out to reflect can reduce anxiety and stress, and improve your workflow too. Not only that, but it’ll reconnect you with things that perhaps you’ve been neglecting. There’s a lot of good reasons for reflection.

I’ve tried to make an effort this year of reflecting more, thinking about life, where I am, and where I wanna go. Sometimes disconnecting from everything can be therapeutic and…needed. It’s an escape, at least temporarily, from what’s going on in life. It can also help you focus, which I’ve found to be very helpful.

So yeah, I thought I’d write something quick as a reminder that it’s important to take time out to reflect. Your mental health will likely benefit from it.

Aight y’all, until the next one, stay up, stay safe, and hold ya head. Ajaxxx signing out, PEACEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!
