Sometimes in life, you gotta wait. Despite how fast YOU wanna move, life has a natural way of presenting you with setbacks, obstacles, and all sorts of other fun stuff that gets in your way. And sometimes, you can’t control those things. To build upon that, sometimes those unforeseen things make you wait. That’s been the theme of this past month…

What is poppin’ my peoples? We’re one month deep into 2013. Welcome to the Ajaxxx.com Opinions Column, the only place where you can probe my brizzain for all that’s going on. For those that’re new to the site, welcome and glad to have you here. For those that’re returning, welcome back and thanks for riding with me! And with the formalities outta the way, let’s talk about the waiting game.

So tell us Jaxxx, what is this waiting game you refer to? Ok so let’s rewind to last month’s Opinion Column. I already called that there would be things that set me back this upcoming year. What I didn’t realize was, they would start RIGHT away. So a couple of weeks ago, I was getting ready to drop my new mixtape “He’s a Monster!”, right? I was working day and night to get the music sounding rizzight, working closely with producers, engineers, and so on. I posted the CD online for a few days, but then decide to take it down to perfect a few additional things. Just when I was rollin’, the unthinkable happened…my computer crashed. And that’s where I am today…waiting for it to get fixed.

I tried to fix it myself, worked with someone from IBM, and even had a tech-friend of mine help too. Each of us are pretty savvy with it. Despite our attempts, I don’t know what happened but it wouldn’t work. I was seriously lost and finally decided to take it to a professional. So I mean, the process of attempting to troubleshoot it myself, working with others, and now taking it to a pro…it’s all a part of the waiting game. As I write this, I don’t have my computer and I don’t have my files. So without my files, I can’t drop the new mixtape. And if I can’t drop the new mixtape, I am empty. Sigh.

In addition to not being able to drop the mixtape, I had a bunch of other exciting plans that I wanted to work on for 2013. However, for the time being (and until the comp gets fixed), I must sit patient. It’s not fun, but patience is a virtue. So I mean, in the meantime I’m trying to stay productive in other areas and just keep moving. Again, I gotta play the waiting game.

Outside of the whole computer issue, January was also really eventful in a lot of other ways too. THIS part I did call. I said that the rollercoaster will continue on, and it has. Between family, friends, girls, music, and work, it’s been nothing short of dramatic. Anyway, it’s all good…I’m chillin’, my head is in a good place, and I’m definitely not stressin’.

New music I been listening to? Got a chance to peep the new ASAP Rocky, which really surprised me. I really wasn’t a fan of the first single, but he can really spit and he’s got some great songs on there too. I haven’t figured out what it reminds me of yet, but it’s got a dope vibe to it. And with songs like “Problems” and “1 Train” (the beat on both of those are krazy), he’s got some bangers. Definitely worth peeping if you haven’t already.

Anyway, that’ll do it for this column. What to expect for February? Well hopefully I get my comp back…and then I’ll drop this new mixtape! In addition, I’m finally ramping up to get my new video shot. And also, I’m still working towards completing Something to Prove! Although I have to admit, I’ve come across some new beats that’re FIRE! LoL.
