It seems like negativity is something that nobody can escape. You will have haters, doubters, nay-sayers, trash talkers, and the like come around at some point. You’ll meet dishonest, disloyal people that have ulterior motives and you’ll have all sorts of krazy experiences. It’s not that you go searching for it or that you put yourself in that position…it’s life. Despite all that life throws at you though, you have to surround yourself with a positive vibe and positive attitude. Is it hard? Absolutely? Have I got it down? LoL You can say I’m still working on it. All I do know is, in this krazy world that we call life, it’s either change your outlook or let your outlook change you.

This is the sole spot on the whole planet where you can learn more about yours truly on a deeper, more personal NSA-style level. For that that’re new to the site, WELCOME! Glad to have you join me. And for those that’re returning, much thanks and welcome back! So with that, let’s talk about the month that was September.
So positive vibes. You gotta be wonderin why I called the Opinions Column that this month. From time to time, I gotta remind myself to rise above the negative energy in my life. Whether from colleagues to friends to music peoples, it seems unavoidable at times. However, despite that, negativity is a “label” on things that we find bad. Instead, I try my best to un-label those things and shift my attitude. LoL and I must sound like a motivational speaker right now. But nah, I just feel like whenever life attacks you from all angles, instead of getting down about it…change your reaction and it’ll immediately change the situation. Laugh at stuff. Think about the long run. Be positive. It’ll all work out…
September also had some other stuff going on. Since this IS the Opinions Column, here are my opinions on a few other things…
Miss America 2013 – Nina Davuluri
First of all, congratulations to the first Indian Miss America. Pretty incredible, right? Indians are breaking boundaries in new places and Nina Davuluri has made a big impact. Despite her win though, ignorance took to twitter as tons of people made racist remarks about how she’s a terrorist or that she’s not American. It’s sad that in today’s age, that kinda stuff still exists. My thoughts? We still need to do a better job of educating people. I think the media is also very responsible, but I don’t know how you combat that. It’s definitely something that’s gonna take time, but we’ve made a ton of progress, haven’t we? And with Nina traveling the country to spread her message of diversity, that message will go further. So yeah, eff the haters…congrats Nina.
New Eminem single
So Em dropped a new song produced by Rick Rubin called “Berzerk.” What’d I think? Ummmmmm…it’s OK. I’m a really big Em fan too, but he’s definitely lost a step in previous albums. And I never hear anybody talk about this, but his wordplay and punchlines have gotten a lot cornier. “MC Ren, and I ain’t talkin about Stimpy”? C’mon Em, I know you got better stuff than that. I’m never wow’ed by the first single (except for “The Real Slim Shady”) but this song really left me wanting more. While it’s not BAD and the video does make it better, he’s definitely capable of greater music. Here’s hoping MMLP2 the album (which I’m skeptical about just off the title alone) will be better than the single.
Drake – Nothing Was the Same
Drizzy Drake also dropped a new album this past month. While I wasn’t krazy about his last release, I thought this one was a much more cohesive album. I mean, it seems like he raps a lot more on this one. He did get mad flack for titling a song called “Wu Tang Forever” (LoL), but past that it’s not a bad album at all. My only gripe is that there aren’t any standout singles to me other than the current singles he’s already released (“All Me” and “Hold On, We’re Going Home). It feels like everything else weighs the same, so it should be interesting to see what he picks for his next single. My vote’s on “Wu-Tang Forever” just to get people talking…but let’s see.
So yeah, what can we expect for October? Well, I’m going outta town this month…actually outta the country. I’ll be traveling to Zurich, Switzerland for about a week. Pretty exciting, right? Yeah I’m looking forward to getting away and experiencing something new. LoL pics on the way!
