Every January, I refocus my goals while revisiting what I did the previous year. I absorb the past and look to the future. This year is no different. I’m extremely excited for 2015 and committed to accomplishing the goals I set out for myself. I’m ready, I’m set, and with 2015, here I go.
What up my peoples? What is good? Welcome one and welcome all to the January 2015 Opinions Column. And oh yea, HAPPY NEW YEAR! For those that’re new to the site, this is the place where I let you in on a personal level and let you know what’s going on with me. For those returning, you already know the deal. With that introduction, let’s talk about last year and what we can look forward to for the new year.
So last month, I revisited the last 12 months in “My 2014 Year in Review.” Additionally, I put together a year in review video which you can check out below. It highlights my release for the “One of a Kind” music video, along with all the freestyle videos I did throughout the year. Check it out and let me know what you think.
Because I covered so much in December,, I’ll keep THIS column somewhat short. At the same time, I want to talk a little about what to look forward to, along with my December as well.
1) Music Videos – This year, I plan on releasing more music videos than ever before. While I did release the video for “One of a Kind” last year, I feel I can do more this year. I’ve got a ton of great ideas (along with a ton of great songs) and I’m really looking forward to letting everyone see what I have in mind. I know this will be very challenging from experience, but I’m up for it. If there’s one thing I’ve learned in this musical journey, it’s that hard work pays off. So yea, look out for seeing more of me this year.
2) The Album – While I’ve talked about this for year after year, I truly feel 2015 will finally see “Something to Prove” release to the world. I’ve got a good feeling about the album and as I’ve mentioned before, it’s pretty far along. I’m going to really focus on it, fixing some things here and there to really get it sounding great. This is by far going to be the biggest deal and I’m VERY excited about it. This will really showcase my skills and let you get to know me from a songwriter’s perspective. Can’t wait!
I’d say those are my biggest goals for this year. If I can accomplish those, I’ll feel fantastic about life. So yes, let’s get to work.
As far as December goes, I closed out the year on a high note by visiting New York and going to Times Square for NYE. While it was pure madness, what made it really crazy was the weather. It was wayyyyy too cold for me, especially since I’m from Florida haha. The rest of the month was really cool too, as I got the chance to see a lot of people and start to get back in the groove since returning from Switzerland. Fun times indeed.
I’ll be doing some more traveling this month and throughout the year as well. With the traveling combined with the music projects going on, this is going to be one busy year. Wish me luck!
