If you’re reading this, consider yourself blessed. You’re able to read. You’ve got eyes to be reading this. You’ve also got some kind of internet connection. Those might seem like small things, but they’re not. They’re actually huge, especially if you consider those that aren’t afforded those things. So yes, we are blessed.
What up y’all? What’s going on? Welcome to the Ajaxxx.com September 2017 Opinions Column. This month, I want to spend a little time talking about how we’re blessed and why I’m even talking about this. If you’re new to the site, welcome! And if you’re returning, welcome back! Ok, so let’s dive deeper, shall we?
Honestly, I’ve thought a lot about how blessed we are lately in the aftermath of the storms that have come to the U.S. For my Florida peeps, y’all know we had Hurricane Irma just come through here and do massive devastation. A lot of people didn’t expect it to be bad or that it would steer clear of Orlando. It hit us head on though, and a lot of people lost a lot. We were without power for a few days. There are still people without power now. And yes, lots more people have lost homes, vehicles, or even lives. And then you look at what’s going on in other places in the world. Whether it’s the hurricane that hit Puerto Rico or the earthquakes in Mexico, there’s a lot of natural disasters that have occured.
My heart goes out to everyone suffering right now because of what’s going on in the world. I’ve seen it firsthand here in Florida and it’s krazy. I’m just hopeful that we’re able to have a fast recovery and people are able to receive the help they need.
So with all those things happening, if you’re still alive right now then consider yourself blessed. Not even though. Even if those things weren’t happening, you’re still incredibly fortunate to have what you have. The probability of you existing at all comes out to 102,685,000. Yes, that’s a 10 followed by 2,685,000 zeroes. You’re a miracle yo. Embrace it and remind yourself everyday of how blessed you are!
Ok, without trying to sound like too much of a motivational speaker lol…all I’m saying is, there’s a lot going on in the world and sometimes we just need to take a step back and realize it’s not so bad. Even if you’ve got bills to pay, gf/bf drama, or whatever else it is…we’ve all got problems…but we’re alive and the potential for what we can do is unlimited.
