What is the deal my peoples? I mean really, what is goin’ on! As you can imagine, I’m excited. Actually, excited would be an understatement. Finally, after talking trash for months and months and months (shoot, even years if you’ve been keeping up with me), the new website is FINALLY here. FINALLY, the work that I’ve been doing for so long has come to fruition. FINALLY, I’m able to share with you the project that I’ve spent so much time on. It’s a beautiful feeling, I’m telling you.
So, for those loyalists that have been checking for me throughout the years, thank you and welcome back. And for those that’re new to the site, thank you too…and I hope I can continue to see you. The Opinions Column was once the place where I talked all the trash that I wanted to, rambled on about whatever, spoke my mind about what’s goin’ on in my life, got introspective about the happenings around me, and just opened up. Well, nothing has changed. This is still the spot where I will talk about anything and everything, whether it be music, movies, females (uh oh), or whatever else. This is the spot where you can get into my head.
So what’s new with the Opinions Column? Well, structurally, (and perhaps one of the best new additions) you can now leave comments! Talk about something LONG overdue. I used to have people write me emails responding to my comments, and I always hated that. So I mean, now we have an open forum where people can respond, react, and ask questions. The other thing I’m really feelin’ about this new layout is the fact you can see my old Opinions Columns too. In the past, I only displayed the one from last month, which was wack. I mean, it was better than nothing, but never the way I wanted it to be. Anddd, another great addition is that you can actually scroll through the entire entry. In the old version, I had these little Flash buttons that made navigation a bit frustrating, especially if you want to know where the writing ended. And oh yea, I can add videos and pictures to this too (and not just links), which is added dopeness too. So yes, the Opinions Column sees a HUGE upgrade, and definitely catches me up with the times.
So now that I’ve talked to you about the new site, let’s talk about me, shall we? Haha.
Well, let me try to get everyone caught up with what’s been going on with me. This past year, I released my new single “Blow” (produced by June 25th), I released the video for it, and I also premiered the video at the India International Film Festival in Tampa. I’ve been pushing the single for the last few months.
I’m also planning to release a second single produced by longtime producer TyPeNyCe. And of course, it’ll be accompanied by a video. So I’ve got a lot on my plate right now, but I haven’t been able to spend enough time on the music with the website. Well now that it’s finally live, I can get back to the mic.
Perhaps another HUGE deal in my life is that I’m going to India this summer. What! Yep, I’ll be returning to the motherland for a few months. I’m going to be working, visiting friends and family, and even shooting a music video while I’m out there too (which will be for a song for the second “Indian-themed” CD that I’m also doing). I’ll be finalizing the track asap, and then start the planning for the video. This song’s gonna be one of my most POWERFUL songs, so I’m really looking forward to that.
Anyway, I don’t wanna make this opening Opinions Columns TOO lengthy (although I’m afraid I might’ve already crossed that line haha), but I did wanna hit y’all with something to get this ball rolling. Thanks for checking the site and supporting, and I’ll get back to you guys soon!
