Trust the process. It’s a simple saying, but it’s so powerful.
Before we move ahead, what is up my people! What’s going on? Welcome to the July 2020 Opinions Column that yes, is super late lol. For those that’re new to the site, this is the place where I talk about what’s going on in my life and what’s on my mind. For those returning, welcome back! July is my birthday month so I’m usually more reflective around this time of the year. Soo, let’s talk about THE PROCESS and why it’s so important to trust it.
So for me, trusting “the process” is such a strong concept. It’s probably because it resonates with me so much. I have a feeling that it’s also relatable to many people. What is it about this that clicks with you, ‘Jaxxx?
Well, we all know what it takes to achieve success or transformation or positive change. It’s hard work. It’s consistency. It’s patience. It’s all those things that we’ve heard again and again and again. Yet for whatever reason, people don’t follow through with all of those actions. Orrr, they do but give up way too early before any real change can occur. Why does that happen? Is it societal pressure? Is it human nature? Or is it just so difficult to imagine a better version of ourselves??? I don’t know. But what I do know is, I’m also guilty of not always following through.
That’s why, from time to time, I need to revisit this and remind myself of the importance of the process.
The other thing? The word TRUST. According to the dictionary, it is a firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something. A FIRM BELIEF. It’s like, you really need to believe that this’ll really be the thing that gets you to where you wanna go. Perhaps that’s where the barrier lies? Perhaps people aren’t 100% sold on the idea that if you put in the work and dedicate yourself to something, real change can happen. I dunno. But it’s been proven again and again and again that it does work. So yes, while it’s important to consider the PROCESS, it’s just as important to TRUST it. You almost have to have a blind faith that it’ll work, put your head down, and put in the work.
It’s definitely a simple concept but a strong one. I encourage all my dream chasers to think about the process, why it’s important to trust it, and put in the necessary actions to make it happen. I know it’s been a difficult year, but we’re still in control of our lives.
