I’ve been doing a lot of reading about time lately. I’ve also had a few convos with some friends over the last month on the topic too. For some reason, time seems to move much faster now than when we were younger. Moments that you looked forward to are just blurs in the past now. Milestones have become memories, and it’s hard to comprehend why. I don’t know what it is (and there are a ton of theories out there), but time flies much faster when you get older. Compound that with not “taking the time to smell the roses”, and well…it’s even harder to figure out where the time went.

What is up my peoples? Welcome one and all to the July 2013 Opinions Column. July is my birthday month! With every birthday month Opinions Column, I get extra deep/philosophical/borderline krazy. This year is no different, especially since there’s a ton on my mind that I wanna talk about…especially dealing with time. If you’re new to the site, this is the place where I talk about everythinggggg going on within the chasms of my brizzain. And if you’re returning, muchas gracias! I love you! After being computer-less for like two months, I’m FINALLY back. After weeks and weeks of postponing, rescheduling, and delaying, I’m finally able to return to 100% productivity. And after almost losing my mind, I return to full form. That’s right, my computer is finally back and now I can get back to normal.

Life is full of distractions. There’s so much noise, so many obstacles, and endless hardships keeping you from where you wanna go. As a dreamer, it can get pretty discouraging. 2011 has been quite the year, hasn’t it? It was the year of the revolution and the year of the protestor. We saw deaths of Bin Laden and Gadhafi along with the Occupy Wall Street movement. In addition, we saw stories about the Royal Wedding, the Casey Anthony trial, Steve Jobs, the shaky economy, and the earthquakes of Japan. Between that and stories about Kim Kardashian, Rebecca Black, and Charlie Sheen, there was a lot that happened this year.

With 2011 winding down (which I still can’t believe), I wanted to take a look at where I’ve been. I wanted to take a look at the year that was 2011, but not so much the news; instead, I wanted to visit the stuff that I’ve been through both personally and professionally. It’s definitely been an “eventful” year to say the least, and I felt like capturing that. In addition, it was a pretty interesting year for music too. So anyway, in this hybrid edition of the Opinions Column, I’ll talk about everything 2011.
